University of Newcastle students take on the Ethiopian trachoma challenge
Second year architectural design students at the University of Newcastle in Australia took up the Challenge to design ‘devices’ that enabled washing the hands and faces of 5 people with limited amounts of water.
The Challenge is based on a real brief from The Fred Hollows Foundation who are working to eradicate trachoma in Ethiopia.
Thanks to all the students, University staff and tutors for efforts far and beyond the course requirements. The results will be combined with those of similar challenges in Sydney and Brisbane to produce the final HH trail designs for testing in Ethiopia.
