Solving difficult problems: Dwelling in the Delta

April 1st, 2012

A student competition supported by several Universities and the German government helped develop more ideas to solve what must be some of the most immediate and difficult architectural and planning problems on earth.

Parts of the deceptively simple but considered winning scheme are shown here and are an inspiration for those around the world that believe architects can contribute to improving the lives of ‘the other 90%’. The understanding of village life, seasonal changes and living patterns are highlighted in this solution. It carefully considers the place and village life.

Thanks to architect Saif Ul Haque Sthapati for the competition material and the discussion to explain the project.
