COVID-19 Update

Following the evolving government advice on COVID-19, HH has postponed the rollout of all Housing for Health projects for the next few months.  Trades will continue to fix critical health hardware on existing projects only.  All community meetings and community-based survey fix work will be postponed.

The risk of contributing to the spread of this highly infectious disease amongst extremely vulnerable communities is too high.  We will continue to monitor advice closely and this may change.

This has been a difficult decision.  Many of the communities we work in have high levels of over-crowding leading to increased risk of the spread of infectious disease such as COVID-19.  In addition, we know that many households don’t have working hand basins or places to store soap and wash hands, the ability to wash people and clothing or prepare food safely, making it impossible for those families to follow medical advice for slowing the spread of this disease.

All reasonable preventive measures on existing projects regarding COVID-19 will be taken, and we look forward to the time when we are able to recommence this critical work.
