The National Indigenous Housing Guide is noted as an important tool to improve housing:

If used in tandem with local knowledge, the guide can help to improve housing and health outcomes, and community
development projects overall.

And the Housing for Health program is noted:

The National Indigenous Housing Guide, agreed to by
Commonwealth, state and territory governments,
is now in place and is constantly being improved
and updated. Moreover, on the maintenance side,
a national Housing for Health Program has been
developed, which uses a health hardware approach to
prioritise maintenance tasks based on a set of healthy
living practices. The program has been independently
evaluated and has been shown to have positive
effects on both dwelling conditions and the health of
the occupants.
