As winter approaches in Nepal

Nepal earthquake update from the ABC News service: Six months on, survivors face prospect of winter without shelter amid political upheaval, fuel shortage.

HH and our partners and generous supporters worked hard after the April May quakes to improve living conditions before the wet season (June, July, August). Building works during that season are very difficult and no decisions by the Nepal government about support for families had been made.

Now as winter approaches and an 8 week long fuel blockade on the India Nepal border cripples the country, efforts to start permanent, safe rebuilding for houses is being hampered by lack of fuel and materials shortages. The direct health impacts of political neglect on the poor villagers of Nepal will be disastrous.
