Nepal Sanitation Studio plumbing teacher wins Wurreker Award

Wayne Ellerton, the plumbing teacher from RMIT University that contributed to the first Nepal Sanitation Studio and the Singapore Water Innovation Challenge, recently won the Wurreker Award for his teaching work with Aboriginal people.

HH congratulates Wayne on his work, the award and his valuable contribution to the local plumbing team in Nepal.

The Wurreker Awards are held annually to celebrate the success of the Koorie (Australian Aboriginal) community in Vocational Education and Training. The awards acknowledge individuals who have achieved outstanding results in their chosen areas of knowledge and expertise. This was the 11th year of the Wurreker Awards.

Held by the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Incorporated (VAEAI), in partnership with the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD).

The event celebrates our community’s progress through partnerships at a local, regional level which improve outcomes for Koories in their training and employment pathways.
Thanks to Kevin Moore for the picture and information about the award.
