Conferences and academic research on Housing & Health on the horizon for 2024.

Below are a couple of notable upcoming conferences and research. The work focuses on important topics of Aboriginal Housing, Health and issues intertwined with the reality of this in Australia.

Aboriginal Housing Northern Territory (AHNT) is the independent peak body for Aboriginal community-controlled organisations that provide housing and housing-related services in the Northern Territory.

AHNT’s vision is “Aboriginal housing in Aboriginal hands.”

The theme of the 2nd Aboriginal Housing and Homelessness Conference  is ‘building a strong, self-determined Aboriginal housing and homelands sector in the Northern Territory.

Healthabitat presented at the 2023 conference in Darwin, themed ‘towards a regulated, resilient, and sustainable Aboriginal community-controlled housing continuum in the Northern Territory’.

AHNT is calling for submissions – closing 15th February 2024.

 

  • Parity Issue on NT Homelessness – “Responding to Homelessness in the Northern Territory”

Parity is the national publication of the Council to Homeless Persons (CHP) and is the national homelessness publication in Australia.

Alongside grounding consideration of homelessness in Northern Territory in the voices and experiences of those who have lived it, one of the aims of this publication is to give everyone working to respond to homelessness in the Northern Territory the opportunity to have their say about the policy and service response to homelessness.

Expressions of Interest is requested by 8th March, with draft submissions due 12th April 2024.
