What do you bring to the HH work?

I bring to HH work over 15 years of experience delivering building works in regional and remote Australia including NT, SA, NSW, QLD & TSI. This experience has given me a thorough understanding of the nature and complexity of delivering building projects in these areas. Our knowledge of building techniques brings an appreciation of the materials and fittings that are suitable for the various environments.

What have you learned from being involved in the work?

By being involved in the HH work, I have further developed an understanding of the delivery of building and maintenance programs, and projects, to rural and remote Aboriginal communities around Australia - from project budgets and timeframes to the local conditions including access, weather and/or the availability of trades people.

In an ideal world what directions, ideas, results would you like to see HH and the Housing for Health work become or achieve?

In an ideal world,Housing for Health methodology would be adopted by housing providers as a tool for ongoing maintenance and as a measure of effectiveness of any works carried out to their houses.

The results of HH data would be utilised by researchers and industry to inform decision making in regard to design, specification and construction of housing and the manufacturing its components.

HH would engage with a broader range of housing providers and Housing for Health become adaptable to meet different building types.
