Community Plumbing Challenge, Nashik, India
COMMUNITY PLUMBING CHALLENGE, 2015–16
The Community Plumbing Challenge event aims to highlight this major issue by bringing together a collaborative workshop of skilled, young international water professionals and students; setting a series of research, design and practical tasks focussing on development of appropriate, cost-effective solutions.
Our goal is to raise awareness of new systems that can be put in place, both globally and locally, that can address issues such as water industry education and training, skills accreditation, installation and maintenance.
The CPC will consist of three main components.
One components will be a design brief issued to teams approximately 7 weeks in advance of CPC 2015, for improving the water and sanitation in an Indian school in Nahik. This will require design and documentation of new water solution to meet a series of defined end-user community specifications.
Other practical challenges will be issued directly at the CPC 2015, and will require design and documentation of new water solutions to meet a different series of defined community specifications and practical tasks relating to Plumbing and Water Technology skills, to be completed at CPC 2015.
